Description: In 2007, McGill University launched an IT Project Management Office (PMO), whose role was to manage strategic university-wide IT projects. In 2008, McGill purchased an enterprise-level Content Management System (CMS). The PMO was chosen to run the pilot project for the CMS, called the eCalendar Project. The eCalendar project promised the delivery of more readable and searchable web-based university course and programs calendars, using the newly acquired tools of the CMS. This presentation will outline how the Project Management Office used methodologies to plan and execute the eCalendar pilot project. We will explore the project structure, organization, and standard project management methodologies we used to bring the project to completion.
